The design vision was to link Park Hill with the main transport hub which sits at the base of the hill, including the main train and bus stations and tram routes into the city centre. For many visitors to Sheffield, Park Hill is the first image people are greeted with. The design helps intergrate the harsh and imposing structure with surroundings and projects a better first impression of the city.

The Park Hill design sits in front of the 1960's built concrete flats. At the time they were built they were known as the 'Streets in the Sky' and boasted to be the largest development of its kind in the whole of Europe. In more recent times the Park Hill flats fell into disrepair and the initial concept of social unison was long gone. A source of controversy still with the people of Sheffield whether this huge structure should have been demolished years ago.
However, the future looks much more promising, Urban Splash have taken this project under their wing. They are a forward thinking urban regeneration specialist with a great track record.
